Service Colours
 

A special committee is convened to discuss boys who have been nominated for awards. This consists of a Deputy and the Heads of the main areas of service in the school (Interact, First Aid, Library, Sound and Lighting). These awards are made once a year, around the same time as the School Speech Night.

 
Distinction: Service Tie 
In order to receive a Service Tie, the nominee should have performed service to the school of an outstanding nature for a number of years, showing commitment and dedication to the task at hand. He should be an example that all school pupils should strive to emulate. The addition is the wearing of the distinction badge on the blazer.
 
Full Colours
The recipient should have been involved in his particular area of service for at least two years, and should have in that time been fully involved in those areas, showing initiative and leadership. He should at all times be an example to others, giving unselfishly of his time and effort in the service of the school.
 
Half Colours
The recipient should have been involved for at least two years, and during that time he should have contributed notably in his service to the school. He should be a contributing member of his service organisation, who can be called upon to perform duties willingly at any time.
 
Colours - Cultural
 
Music Distinction 
Must be a member of a the Chamber Choir, Concert Band and/or Jazz Band for at least four years (or less in exceptional circumstances) having achieved a high level of performance at Grade 7 level, Eisteddfod work or competitions. The candidate must be seen as an exceptional musician and leader who truly inspires his peers to strive for all-round excellence.
 
Music Full Colours
Must be a member of the Chamber Choir, Concert Band and /or Jazz Band for at least three years, (or less in exceptional circumstances) having achieved a high level of performance at Grade 6 level, AND must have expanded on his leadership and performance skills. Excellence in Eisteddfod work, external practical exams, section leader in various school ensembles, greater leadership responsibilities in the musical activities of the school and broader community, will be evidence of a candidate who sets high musical and leadership standards for others to emulate.
 
Music: Half Colours 
Must be a member of the Chamber Choir, Concert Band and /or Jazz Band for at least two years, (or less in exceptional circumstances) having achieved a high level of performance at Grade 5 level, AND must be a committed musician who through initiative, dedication and practice, and involvement in the musical activities of the school as a performer and supporter is clearly seen as an example for others to emulate.
 
Distinction  
Must have been actively involved in Drama for at least four years. Involvement in Drama consists of being involved in at least three of the following activities: Public speaking (Debating) OR Eisteddfod/External play festivals OR One-Act Plays OR Mainstream production
AND   Stage management for at least two mainstream production and at least three student productions.
AND   Directed at least  three student productions.
AND   The candidate must be an excellent actor/director.
AND   must show great initiative and responsibility, being clearly seen as an example for others to emulate, supporting when not participating.
 
Drama: Full Colours    

Must have been actively involved in Drama for at least three years. Involvement in Drama consists of being involved in at least three of the following activities:Public speaking (Debating) OR Eisteddfod/External play festivals OR One-Act Plays OR Main production AND Stage management for at least one mainstream production and at least two student productions. AND The candidate must have shown exceptional acting skills, directing skills and/or presentation skills. AND must show great initiative and responsibility, being clearly seen as an example for others to emulate, and supporting when not participating.

 
Drama: Half Colours 
Must have been actively involved in Drama for at least two years. Involvement in Drama consists of being involved in at least three of the following: Public speaking (Debating) OR Eisteddfod/External play festivals OR One-Act Plays OR Main production. AND The candidate must have shown good acting skills, directing skills and/or presentation skills. AND must show great initiative and responsibility, being clearly seen as an example for others to emulate, and be one who supports when not participating.
