Little Bosch

The Little Bosch Grade R and Activity Centre is situated above Keurboom Park and was established by Rondebosch Boys’ Preparatory School. Secure grounds and spacious buildings create a warm, welcoming environment for three Grade R classes. Little Bosch follows the Integrated Day Education Programme. This ensures a child-centred approach where children are guided and supported daily in order for them to achieve their full potential. The programme provides many activities, both indoors and outdoors, that will stimulate creative and problem-solving thought, awaken curiosity and develop perceptual and pre-learning skills.

As a vigorous school community RBPS encourages the involvement of parents and families as dynamic partners in their children's education and the development of the school and its facilities.

At RBPS we believe that education is an exciting process: A rigorous academic diet, flavoured with a powerful emphasis on competitive sport, music and the arts will inspire Rondebosch boys to find their years here challenging and fulfilling. Lessons are presented by a motivated and highly qualified team of educators to relatively small classes in an atmosphere of structure and discipline. Boys are encouraged to be presentable, have impeccable manners and show respect and consideration towards others. All boys are expected to participate in one sport each term. We have eighteen rugby XV's; seventeen hockey XI's and twelve cricket XI's. Other sports include athletics, cross country, squash, swimming, tennis and judo. The Prep has developed a fine reputation for excellence in music, which can be studied at various levels. Drama is also offered as an extra-mural activity and a theatrical production is presented each year. Computers also permeate all aspects of school life.

Rondebosch Boys’ High School

There is a long tradition of academic excellence at Rondebosch. The academic ethos encourages students in independent thought, interest and self-disciplined study before routine class learning. This ethos promotes real academic readiness for tertiary study and life in general. It also encourages a high degree of academic self-motivation - one of the many reasons why the pupils are regular winners and finalists in academic competitions.

The school believes that sport helps to establish a wonderful rapport between staff and pupils. Efficiently coached and organized, sport promotes friendships, group integration, self-confidence and assists in the development of personal maturity and inter-personal skills. Not only are top players considered – every boy is encouraged to participate and enjoy his chosen activity. Cultural activities have always been part of the balanced make-up of learners at Rondebosch Boys’ High School. The standards achieved by students show consistently high performance benchmarks. Cultural activities are structured to augment both individual and team performances. The focus, however, remains on the process of an individual’s involvement and development in a particular activity, rather than the end result. It is the school’s view that the educational value of personal development through involvement in cultural activities is far more important than the number of awards obtained at the end of the day.
