*A deposit is required on acceptance of your son at RBPS. This deposit is refunded when your son leaves the Rondebosch schools. NOTE: A signed Tuition Agreement is also a prerequisite for admission to RBPS.

Voluntary Development Contribution
A voluntary development contribution is set at R2,000 per annum. This payment is tax deductible. If paying by Debit Order an additional R100 per month will be deducted.

Fee Remissions and Payment
As in prior years, parents experiencing financial hardship may apply for a partial remission rebate of fees. It must however be stressed that the effective management of the school is dependant on the fact that the payment of school fees by parents must be maintained. The high level of payment of fees by Rondebosch parents has directly influenced the quality of education that your son receives at the school. We therefore give the fee paying parents the assurance that those parents who are dilatory in settling their accounts timeously are actively pursued and that judgements are taken against them when no other alternatives have proven to be satisfactory.

Scholar accident insurance
This cover is voluntary. There is a small excess to be paid on each claim. This accident insurance covers costs which are in excess of parents own medical aid cover limits.

Professional coaching and extra lessons
Facilities exist for boys to receive professional coaching in the following activities: Judo, swimming, squash, tennis and music. Extra lessons in Afrikaans are also available. For further details regarding fees and times, please contact the Headmaster's Secretary.

Music lessons
Music tuition is given at the school in piano, recorder, cello, violin, guitar, clarinet, percussion, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, French horn and keyboard. A fee (depending on instrument learnt) is charged for these lessons which must be submitted, strictly in advance, to the school bursar. Auditions take place annually in November.

NOTE: There is a waiting list for these lessons and pupils who do not make the desired progress in music, may be replaced. Any pupil wishing to terminate music lessons is required to give a full term's notice.

Learning Support
RBPS employs highly qualified remedial therapists. Parents are responsible for payment of lessons.

Payment of coaching and extra lessons
Charges for music and remedial will be debited to your school fee account. Fees for private lessons are paid directly to the teacher/coach concerned.

Stationery
RBPS negotiates with a company to supply stationery requirements for the year. An order form is issued to parents. Under the section "Exercise Books", standard requirements are listed. These items should preferably be purchased from the company to ensure conformity within each grade. These exercise books have been selected by the school and are of the required size and quality.

Other items on the list may be purchased from other suppliers, but please ensure that your son is completely equipped for the next year. Boys feel at a disadvantage if they do not have the correct items as the others within the class. Payment for stationery is arranged directly with the stationery supplier and all queries are directed through this company.

Scholarships
Rondebosch Boys' Preparatory School offers the "all-rounder" scholarship to a Grade 7 boy who goes on to Rondebosch Boys' High School. This amounts to R 6 000 per annum and is reviewed each year.
