Prize Giving
Perhaps the academic highlight of the year, Rondebosch Boys’ High School celebrated its top achievers on Thursday 29 January in a ceremony aimed at highlighting and honouring scholastic diligence. With educators donning academic gowns, learners took to the stage in the Memorial Hall for their achievements in various categories and subjects.
Mr Bruce Probyn, who is the current Headmaster of Herschel Girls’ School, was the guest-speaker. Mr Probyn holds a fine relationship with Rondebosch: his sons attended the school, he himself was a Wynberg Boys’ High student and thus competed with the school on a number of levels, and he is related to the distinguished late Rondebosch Old Boy Judge Corbett. With such an illustrious relationship it is no surprise how well-received his speech was.
Congratulations to the respective winners on their performances in 2008. A full list of prize-winners is available in the Rondebosch School Magazine of 2008.
