Absence / holidays
Kindly notify the school when your child is absent, especially when he has an infectious disease. This is important for our medical records, daily logbook and to be able to inform all our parents.
Allergies
Please advise us if your child has allergies of any kind.
Oral medication
There is a WCED rule that no oral medication may be given at school. If your child is being treated please administer the medication at home. For children who stay for aftercare, there is a medication book in the office that must be filled in and signed by the parents.
Sick children
Germs spread very rapidly amongst children, due to the nature of their close interaction with each other. We do not have the facilities to care for sick children, so please do not send them to school. If a child falls ill during the day, we will isolate him in the office and contact you immediately to make the necessary arrangements.
Birthdays
This is always a special occasion and mums and dads are encouraged to join in the birthday ring. Please make the necessary arrangements with the teacher beforehand. A piece of cake, cupcake or party pack may be brought along to the class. Party invitations may be placed in the letter pockets, which are on each playroom door.
Toys
Please support us with this difficult situation. Children may not bring toys or money to school except on Fridays for “show and tell”. They inevitably get lost or broken which results in tears and unhappiness. We do understand that some children might initially need to bring something from home as a form of security (teddy will be placed in the bag or on the shelf), but as soon as they have settled down, please discourage it.
Clothing
A bag with a spare set of clothes, appropriate for the season, must be provided. This bag remains at school to be used when necessary. All items must be clearly marked.
Hats and caps
Each child will receive a Little Bosch hat to wear, especially during the summer months. It will remain at school, with the spare clothes.
Lost property
Lost property items are placed in the marked crate in the foyer. Please check this regularly – articles left over at term end will be given to charity.
Sunscreen
Please send a bottle of sunscreen to school during the summer months. It will be kept in your child’s bag for daily use
Parking
Please use the parking area correctly and courteously. DO NOT PARK in the middle of the red area or on the yellow line or where you are blocking an entrance, as this is extremely dangerous for the children as well as causing major traffic congestion. Hooting outside the gate is also not acceptable.
Photographs
A professional photographer comes to the school to take very special individual, group and family portraits at a reasonable cost. We also take regular photographs at school and during outings which we display and are available to be purchased by you. |
