Old Boys are reminded that our annual dinner in Cape Town is on Friday 9 March at Kelvin Grove where our main speaker will be Shaun Simpson, the newly appointed Headmaster of the High School.  Contact the Old Boys’ office to book and pay for the dinner – bookings close on 29 February (or earlier if capacity is reached).  All the information you need to make your booking is below.

 

On Founders’ Day, Wednesday 14 March, Old Boys play in the traditional cricket, tennis and water polo matches versus RBHS boys.  These matches are always popular so it is essential that you let the Old Boys’ Union know if you want to play – see below.  The matches will again be followed by an informal social function to which all Old Boys are invited.

Summer sports vs School and informal Old Boys’ function

 

The Old Boys matches versus the High School will be played on Founders’ Day Wednesday 14 March.  This is the 107th anniversary of the first Old Boys vs School cricket match.  Should you want to play cricket, tennis or water polo please email your details to Robbie Morris at  robbie.morris30@gmail.com   

 

All Old Boys are invited to the casual function in the E1942 Centenary Pavilion starting at about 17h30. 

 

Rondebosch vs Bishops Old Boys’ Golf Challenge

 

The annual Walker Cup Golf Challenge between Rondebosch and Bishops Old Boys is on Sunday 4 March at the Mowbray Golf Club.  Bosch pairs will take on Bishops pairs and the day’s play will be followed by a prize giving and snacks.  Old Boys who would like to play should contact Pen Brower (E70) on 021 782 3818 or email pennb@iafrica.com

Applications for admission to RBPS and RBHS in 2013

 

Applications for enrolment in 2013 in Grade R at Little Bosch and Grade 1 at RBPS close on 22 March 2012 and for Grade 8 at RBHS applications close on 16 March 2012.  Contact RBPS on 021 686 4635 or RBHS on 021 686 3987 for application forms and information about scholarships.  Application forms are also available on the school website.  Old Boys are reminded that the Old Boys’ Union is not involved in applications for either school or the boarding houses.

Old Boys’ dinner booking information

Date:	Friday 9 March
Time:	19h00 for 19h30
Venue:	Kelvin Grove, Newlands
Cost:	R225 per ticket.  A concession price is available for E2007 to E2011.
Dress:	Black tie, or dark suit with Old Boys’ tie.

 

Bookings and payments close on 29 February or earlier if capacity is reached.  No late bookings will be accepted.  As it is a popular event, only members of the Old Boys’ Union and the specially invited guests may attend the dinner and we suggest that you book and pay as soon as possible.

 

Reunion groups are to please book and pay by 10 February otherwise seating as a group cannot be assured.  From 11 February to 29 February individual bookings may be made through the Union’s office subject to the availability of seats.

 

To book for the dinner ALL the following information should be forwarded to the Old Boys’ Union at obu@rondebosch.com , or by fax to 021 686 1897 or post to 25 Lochiel Road Rondebosch 7700.  No bookings will be accepted prior to payment being made and no tickets are available at the door.

 

To make a dinner booking we need:

 o Your first name and surname

 o Your E-year

 o The postal address to which your ticket should be posted

 o Your telephone and cellphone numbers

 o Your email address (please print clearly if faxing or posting your details)

 o Your payment of R225 per person attending

 

If you want to make a table booking, we will also need the names and Eyears of all the Old Boys at your table.  Table bookings will only be accepted on pre-payment of all tickets.  If you book on your own, or with a few friends, we will allocate you to a table of ten within or close to your Eyear.

 

Bank transfers:

Your booking details should first be emailed to obu@rondebosch.com or faxed to 021 686 1897.  Please mention that you want to make a bank transfer and the bank account details will then be emailed to you.  Your name and E-year should be clearly shown on the deposit form or transfer advice which is to be emailed or faxed to the Union when your payment has been made. 

 

Postal bookings:

Should you be paying by cheque, please post the booking details and your cheque to 25 Lochiel Road Rondebosch 7700.  Your cheque should be in favour of "RBHS Old Boys’ Union".
