Social Responsibility

Outreach at RBPS
Outreach at RBPS includes both charities that are supported by individual grades and special projects that involve the entire school.

Charities supported by individual grades
Our charity portfolio is varied and full. This portfolio always aims at two purposes, to materially help the charity and to educate the Rondebosch boys as to their social responsibility. Charity at Rondebosch is driven by the unfailing generosity of our parents. Each year, each grade, targets a charity of their own choice and our boys experience the true joy in giving.

The school will also respond to specific additional projects should the need arise. Our boys take great pride in their ability to make a difference to those lives less fortunate than ourselves.

Special projects

Tree of Joy
Our biggest charity drive of the year is for the Tree of Joy. The Prep School and Little Bosch give over 800 presents to the poor children of Cape Town, ensuring some children will get a Christmas present. A specific 'wish list' is given to each class to fulfil.

Ysterplaat Feeding Scheme
Every Wednesday RBPS are encouraged to bring additional food to school. This food is collected and delivered to Ysterplaat Primary School, where it is distributed to children who come from families that experience economic difficulties and hardships.

Every week specific classes in the school are challenged to provide designated items to school, to ensure the sustainability of the project. This programme has been running for over a decade and is viewed as having benefit for both schools.
