General Information

Traffic / Parking around the school
Under no circumstances may parents drive into the school grounds to drop off or pick up their sons first thing in the morning or immediately after school. When fetching the boys from extra murals in the afternoon, parents may enter and park in the main playground (big boys' playground). The barrier line on the left of Rouwkoop Road should be kept clear at all times. If there is no parking on the school side of the road, please do not stop. Cars may not stop on Campground Road in the mornings and should not double park there at the end of school.

Valuables
The school cannot be held responsible for any losses.

Cell Phones
Please note that learners are not permitted to have cell phones on the school premises. The school cannot be held responsible for any losses.

Money
Money and/or other valuables are the pupil's responsibility. It is not necessary for a pupil to bring more than R10 of his personal money to school. All school-related monies, clearly marked in a sealed envelope, must be handed directly to the class teacher or to the assistant bursar.

Medication
A directive from the Educational Department forbids schools from administering medication in any form (even Panado) unless written permission has been received from the parents for each particular medical incident. A blanket letter of permission does not suffice except in the case of Ritalin.

Notices
During the year circulars giving details of school activities and achievements will be sent home. Circulars are generally sent out on a Thursday and sent by email. Single parents who require notices and reports sent specifically to them, must send in a written request to the Headmaster's secretary.

Bicycles
In the interest of pupil safety, only pupils from Grade 4 upwards are allowed to ride to school. Cycling helmets must be worn. Bicycles must be locked in the bicycle shed and are left at school at the pupil's own risk. Pupils may not ride bicycles in the school grounds.

Physical Education
All pupils are to participate in physical education lessons unless a letter to the contrary has been received. Classes take place during school hours.

Outings
During the year a number of outings are arranged. Parents usually lift the boys to and from the venue. An indemnity form is sent out to be signed before every outing.

Public Telephones
There are two public telephones available which pupils may use. One is a card-operated phone (number 021 686 1075) and the other is coin-operated (number 021 685 3188). Phone cards may be purchased from the school secretary and are most convenient.

Birthday
Each boy is encouraged to bring some small edible treat for every boy in their class on their birthday. This can be arranged with the class teacher.

Lost Property
All clothing must be clearly marked with the pupil's name and not just his initials. If clearly marked, clothing will be sent to your son's classroom. Unclaimed property will be sold at lost property if not collected timeously. Lost property is open on a Tuesday morning from 07:30 - 08:30.
